Has everyone forgotten what he did for England in the world cup? Have all you so called man utd fans forgotten how you wanted him hung, drawn and quarterd? You are so fickle! Why can`t we all have a little bit of imagination and vote for a player in a lower club, someone who has helped keep their team out of the religation zone? Think about it people!

As a Man U fan I can say I never wanted him hung drawn and quartered. He doesn't get booed at Old Trafford. It is an inherent right of a fan to criticise a player of his own club if justified. This season Ronaldo has been immense. He's scored almost as many goals as Drogba. Not bad for a midfielder. Stop living in the past.
Yes, I think players from lower clubs should be considered, especially if they have saved their club from relegation. It's far easier to be a good player for a successful team than it is for a player in a team that's struggling.

NO, I do not think anybody will ever forget what he did in the WORLD CUP 2006. But you are talking about the PREMIERSHIP FOOTBALL PLAYER of the YEAR surely. He has scored Manchester United some cracking Goals this season, and if he continues to do so, maybe he can beat dogbar. BUT, Please can he stop having the HISSY fits he has when he is beaten to the ball, it just makes him look like a spoilt child, Not the ADULT FOOTBALLER HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE.

But he did and does a lot for Manchester United, and that is much more important. England lost not because of him, but because they played terribly and they still do (it's rather doubtful whether they will be at Euro 2008).
