Are they that idiotic that they couldn't do 5 mins of research on the internet and find out that Infernal Affairs was a movie made in Hong Kong? Or is it because we Asians look the same to all you white people?

I agree that is was a stupid but honest mistake. It was just probably bad organization from the people running the awards show. I mean at the Oscars when Ellen said that Penelope Cruz was from Mexico and then later apologized and said that she's from Spain b/c she didn't want to offend anyone. It's the same concept. I know it offended the HK people who made the original film and other Chinese.

Probably a combination of things. Yes, Asians do look all the same to all us white people, I mean it's obvious of course that racism has everything to do with everything.
The other part is that Hollywood has been redoing Akira Kurosawa films for years. Gee, it might just be an honest mistake.

It sucks, dude. they're remaking my well-known horror movie of all-time, a Korean mystery observed as A tale of two Sisters (Janghwa, Hongryeon). i comprehend it is going to suck-- Pulse, the remake of Kairo became poor (no longer that the different's weren't, both)! I favor the idiots in Hollywood would commence arising with their own concepts as a replace of ruining completely reliable video clips that really everyone looks too lazy to computer screen in subtitles.
