will you get a negative pregnancy test?
Example, the baby stopped growing in week 7, at week 9 nothing has actually been expelled yet.....will I still get a positive test or a negative test?

You will still get a positive reading and your body will still show hcg levels until the baby is either passed or absorbed by your body.

Common signs of a miscarriage include:

Vaginal bleeding.
Abdominal, lower back, or pelvic pain.
Tissue that passes from the vagina.
Bleeding that is light or heavy, constant or irregular. It can sometimes be difficult to know whether light bleeding is a sign of miscarriage. When bleeding is accompanied by pain, however, the likelihood of miscarriage is high.
Sometimes miscarriage causes no symptoms for several weeks after the embryo or fetus has died. This is called a missed miscarriage. Over time, pregnancy-related breast tenderness and weight gain diminish. A medical exam is usually needed to see whether you have had a missed miscarriage.

While many miscarriages complete on their own, some require medical treatment. If you are miscarrying, you and your health professional will want to watch for and prevent complications. If the uterus does not clear quickly enough, you could lose too much blood or develop an infection. In this case, medicine or a procedure called a dilation and curettage (D&C) can more quickly clear the uterus

Miscarriage is usually a chance event, not a sign of an ongoing reproductive problem. If you have had one miscarriage, your chances for future successful pregnancies are good. Less than 1% of women have three or more miscarriages in a row (called recurrent miscarriages).8

You will still get a positive test. you have to expell the old material and let your body clense itself first before you will get a negative test. It all depends on how fast your matabolism is. Your matabolism is what helps clean your body. You could show positive for up to a couple months after a miscarrage if you have a slow matabolism.
