Your combi boilers is most likely mains fed, so shutting off the cold mains supply should cut off the hot to.

Once the water is off, open the taps up to drain any water and relieve the pressure.
Remove the tap heads and covers etc unscrew the tap assembly and replace the washers.
Replace all parts ensuring they are tight, turn water back on.

Hey Presto, your done, now put the kettle on.

For the cold water tap, you have to turn the water off at the main stop tap. For the hot water tap, you will have to leave the cold water off, and open your hot tap unyil water stops running. If you have bathroom and toilet upstairs, when you open the taps downstairs, also open the taps upstairs and flush the toilet to get all the water out of the pipes. Afterwards, refill boiler and check water gauge, and vent air from taps.

there should two valves with a screw in the middle one on the hot and one on the cold pipes these screw should be turned so that they are at 90 degrees to the pipe they will not tighten up so just turn them this is best done with the cold water running so you can see it switch off repeat for the hot
then take the taps apart
