Before the spelling police arrive, I realize the word is spelled "vociferous".

The real question is, does the vociferous left ever really "think" at all? They react, they feel, they do what they are told to do by their exploiters, they resort to name-calling rather than reason, but as far as truly logical, fact-based thought, they are rarely seen to do that. It is no surprise that the left will distort things to fit their predigested agenda. They are not handicapped by scruples as much as those who are labeled "conservative" are.

The British got it right. The left was in favor of going into Afghanistan as was most of the world. If we had never invaded Iraq we could have captured Osama binLaden, destroyed the Taliban and been done with it by now. The sooner we get out of Iraq and concentrate on the real perps of 911, the sooner we can win the "War on Terror".

I support it because in Afghanistan, we appear to be fighting the Taliban and/or Al Qaeda, whereas in Iraq, we are just standing in the middle of a blood feud that has been going on form more than a millenia.

Last I recall, it was Al Qaeda (facilitated by the Taliban)that actually attacked us on 9/11. Iraq had NOTHING to do with Iraq, Bush has even publicly admitted that fact.

So fighting in Afghantistan makes sense while invading Iraq never did.

I think it's a great idea. Better yet, let's move 100,000 American troops there, so we can finally kill Osama bin Laden and end the al-Qaeda threat once and for all. Like we should have done at the end of 2001 when we had a great chance, until Georgie pulled the troops out to pursue his insane vendetta against Saddam Hussein and his lust for oil kicked in.

Afghanistan is a place where U.S. troops have done, and can again do, a lot of good. Iraq is not, and will not be anytime soon. And anyone who says otherwise is lying to all of us, including himself.

i'm not sure i understand what you point is or if you even have one.

what i think is that most of the plans that come from democratic politicians call for a redeployment of our troops currently being wasted in iraq to places exactly like afganistan.

so, i applaud the brit move to afganistan - as do literally 99% of americans.

or do radical republicans forget that the vote to go to war in afganistan was 99-1 - i really do wonder sometimes about the convenient memories of radical right wingers...

Being as I'm not a neo-con, I am often accused of being a liberal (by the neo-cons of course), so I'll go ahead and answer.

I do believe the additional American and British troops being sent to Afghanistan are spending their time clearing and building roads.

However, the taliban are a terrorist organization that was protecting the actual terrorists who attacked the United States. They have resurged because we decided to go looking for "Weapons of Mass Destruction" that did not exist in another country.

I think the British "get it." We need to be focusing on real terrorism and Al Queda instead of policing a civil war. It seems the British understand this very well - then there's George Bush...

vocifereous isn't a word.

That has been the dem plan all along. Take troops out of Iraq and into the REAL war on terror.

Nice try con!

its a great idea, flat and simple. perhaps if you cons stuck with the original plan, the war on terror would be done rather than creating a civil war. you suck and your whole party's logic is flawed. you say one thing, never do it, and instead do the opposite, than blame the left for not agreeing with you. the british are doing a good thing, and i guarantee that after 2008, we will do the same.

Who's quiet? Out of the frying pan and into the fire. No one has ever won in this region of the world and no one ever will. Look at all the countries who have lost in that region.
