My grandfather stood arm in arm with other whites to prevent the integration of his church, in the South.
My father had African American friends and had them over to his house to eat (still in the South).
I have dated African American girlfriends, and have married a woman of another race.
My children are biracial.

It's called progress.

I wouldn't care one bit if I was RELATED to a bad person - but I would care very much if I ACTED like that bad person.

This is just one more thing for Sharpton to get his face in front of a microphone.

I can't wait for the OTHER media whore Gloria Allred to chime in on this - maybe she will represent Al's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-whatever-grandmother on a rape charge or something.

I have some relations that I am not proud of, and some that I am very proud of. In any case, they all fit somewhere between Mother Teresa and Idi Amin on the "Quality Scale". I would guess that even Hitler had family that was not evil. To find out that I had similar ancestry to an evil (or great) individual, means nothing beyond a conversation piece.

Sharpton was not a slave, and Thurmond was not a slave owner. They are/were both bigots, and fools in their own worlds. This story is not worth the paper it's printed on.

it would not bother me at all. i don`t judge people by race, i put people into two categories, intelligent and other.
