Is America the land of the free or land of free rides for foreinors?

I have done a lot of homework on this one! The American people are supporting or I should say paying for most of the foreinors over here. They receive government help before we can. They can receive government grants just for being foreinors. I am sick and tired of it as a taxpayer

Foreinor? Do you mean foreigner? I'm tired of my money going toward alot of things but not much I can do about it. At least most of the foreigners go out and get jobs. And aren't the foreigners over here who are working also receiving paychecks so they are paying taxes too aren't they? What about the naturally born Americans who abuse welfare money? I have a cousin who once used her welfare checks for her kids to buy a TV and entertainment center. Made me so mad as a someone who works all the time!!

the "foreigners" i have had contact with, legal and illegal, seem to work, support themselves and try to make a life, all at jobs that for the most part are available to citizens, there are some abuses for sure, as with any relief system. We can gripe or solve. Prohibition begat bootlegging. Bad worker/immigration policy and bureaucratic lethargy begets cyotes, human bootleggers, and needs change. Then the welfare will reduce, and there will be more legal tax payers to fund their own. But alas, war was a good answer, because to solve the problem requires thinking in washington, and that seems to be left at the city limits by all who enter. As for your question, what ever happened to USA ethic of self reliance?

Maybe you should learn to spell "foreigner"...

Arguments like this crack me up. You've done a "lot of homework" on this -- so, if that's true, tell me how much money the US government spends every year on "grants" just for being foreigners? Since there is no such government category, you can't.
The congressional budget office estimates that the government spent $300 million in 2006 on aid of all kinds (medical, food, job programs, on and on) that *might* have been used by illegal immigrants. Sound like a lot of money? Well, maybe, but...
Every single DAY (not year, DAY), your government spends $42 BILLION (not million) dollars simply to pay the interest on the national debt. That's 140 times PER DAY the entire amount spend PER YEAR that might possibly benefit illegal immigrants. Why aren't you upset about that amount? The $300 million at least goes to care for people's heath and feed them -- the $42 Billion per day goes for NOTHING. A complete waste.

Seems to me if you want to be upset about how your tax money is spent, there are much, much, much bigger wastes of tax dollars than the pittance we spend to take care of a few poor people.

Why don't you go do some more homework...

I am Indian. I work in a medical professional company in India that sends nurses to work for a green card out there. Without having indian nurses to save your lives you would be in trouble coz american nurses cannot work for a long time or switch jobs as they like and please.

We send pharmicists and lab techinicans. Why? Coz america cannot keep the same and there are over 100,000 jobs for nurses in the USA. Your country has alot of foreigners no doubt but where is the compassion for the others. You need to be happy that you are a well loved country in Asia. I dont know about the other countries but our country is rich in wealth and the people we send want to come and save lives. We dont send beggarish people to your country but we send people who aspire to work for their families but love what they are doing and stick in their jobs for 20 or 30 years.

You can never generalize. Just open up and be liberal in your thinking. By the way you cannot spell "foreigner". How come you studied alot on the subject when you have such a pessimestic attitude.

The America that our forefathers founded and fought for is not the America we have today.
Today's America is more or less controlled by corporate interests and the ultra wealthy.
The common person doesn't matter much anymore. The reason the foreigners get all the breaks is because they work cheaper, thus increasing profits for the wealthy who run the whole show.
In the end, follow the money, it's always about the money nowadays.

The people that founded this country are not the same as the foreigners we have know coming in the hundreds into this country. These people do not pay tax's, their kids get free education. If you are a doctor from another could you can come here make money and send it home to your family. In res-ponce to the idiot that wrote get rid of welfare and SS, this is not the answer. My dad worked his entire life and paid into SS and he was en tiled too his little bit of money when he retired, i mean little bit of money.
Ya, if you are rich you do not need help..... but there are more that are not rich then are.......They only people that get breaks in this country are rich(Rep) and the foreinors here on visa's........that is all i have to say.

yea , and i went to school in the 60-70s with foreign teachers that did not really give a good god *** so i wound up living on the streets trying to find a job with a bad rep . , uneducated because i was not allowed to live up to my goals . now I'm almost 50 and can not even get English junk mail like k-mart ,circuit city etc .

I feel just like you on this one seems our government had rather help out every Tom Dick and harry and all of their families before they would raise a finger to help out their own and then they wonder why our medical system and tax system is in such a mess I say take care of your own first then if their is anything left then help the ones that are willing to help themselves
