I agree. It is too early to hear the heart beat, but you can see it on ultrasound. You may be able to hear it as early as 8 weeks. An untrained ear my think they are hearing a "baby's" heart beat if they are listening with a Doppler, but in reality they are probably hearing the mother's heart beat. You'll know it is a baby's heart beat because it will be beating approximately 140+ times a minute.

I had an u/s at 6 weeks and got to see the heartbeat, anytime before that you only see a sac so don't freak out if you can't see it. You can hear the heartbeat at the dr. office between 10-12 weeks.......I am 12 weeks and I am finally getting to hear it!! Good luck and congrats!!

also for those people who say the heart isn't formed at 4 weeks.....yes it is at 3 weeks it begins to beat....

no, it's not possible to hear the heartbeat until around 10 weeks. I can be seen beating on an ultrasound but 4 weeks is WAY too early to hear the heartbeat.

When I was pregnant I was told that you couldn't hear the heartbeat until around 12 weeks....give or take a week or two but my sister-in-law was so skinny when she found out that she was pregnant and heard the heartbeat right away at 6-8 weeks pregnant.

The earliest I heard any of my kids was 6 weeks. And it was with the twins. But in actuality 6 weeks pregnant would be 4 weeks from conception so I guess, YES!!!

No, that's too early to detect. Usually around 9 weeks you hear it for the first time.
