I believe that we do not know what happens when we die. That why I will not rule any possiblity out. But i must say I wish I believe in heaven because it is such a lovely thought and I believe that people who believe in heaven has such positive outlook and are not scared of death as they believe that they are going somewhere great and I don't understand why people want to take that away from them by trying to prove otherwise.

'It is better to behave as though there is a God and then die and find out that there is not, than to live your life as though there was not a God and then die and find out that there is! I LOVE THAT! Might make me rethink my beliefs

I do believe in an afterlife but not a clear cut heaven and hell. I believe that we are reborn and have to pay for the way we lived our previous life. Therefore I live by the addage do unto others as you would have them do unto you. You never know who you will meet again in later life and you may have to pay dearly for any ill treatment you handed out in your previous one. I also believe in God, but again not necessarily in the all seeing type. I believe there is a Higher Power but he/she/it lets us live our lives by our own choices and it is therefore silly to blame he/she/it when things go wrong in our lives. How many people ask themselves "Why me, what have I done to deserve this". The answer may lie in a previous existance and your behaviour then.

a million. No, i does no longer convert. i'm a solid believer in taking a stand against injustice. If a Hell or a Hades existed, real Heaven or real Valhalla can not exist. there's no way all and varied may well be fairly happy for all eternity, if relatives contributors are burning or being tortured in different afterlives. If those places of torture exist, i've got self assurance we ought to consistently ALL pick to bypass to those places, to make a factor to the particular version of a god that invented those places. interior the pastime of destiny generations. So, I probable does no longer even warn all and varied. 2. on account that i'm an atheist, that scenario might certainly be very comforting. Eternity is an extremely, very long term. And existence turns into lots greater significant if there's no longer an afterlife.

Existence is a cycle where everything goes on and on even repeating itself. Numbers actually are repeated, simply adding a zero to it. For some reason it seems everything is in a circle form, such as a bubble where you can continue to go in any direction on and on.
As to Heaven, without a doubt there is a better existence; the difference may be between the king, the servants, the peasants, and the condemned. What will you merit?
Without a doubt there is a Creator that is our Lord.

Dead is dead. Some religions say you go to heaven. A billion Hindus believe they'll be reincarnated. Muslim martyrs think they get 72 virgins in heaven.
If it feels good, go for it...but there is no basis in fact to think there is an afterlife. It is a matter of faith (and every faith has a different twist on it...they can't all be right). Frankly, I think it is exactly because people were afraid of death that myths of an afterlife were created. It's also a good way for "the church" to keep it's subjects in line. Do as we say or your afterlife is in Hell. Or, do as we say and you will be rewarded in death even though we treat you like crap in life.
Frankly, I think heaven is right here on Earth. I pity those people who wait for death to experience the ultimate joys of life. Dead is dead.
P.S...the fact that you state outright that "you do not care" what category where you put a question is really a sign of your true character. Lazy at best...and also arrogant. Your God will judge you on those qualities which I'm guessing extend into many aspects of your life.

My beliefs are very similar to yours. I believe we and the universe were created by a spiritual being. I do not know what shape that being takes, but I believe in it non the less. The universe is too well thought out for it to have just happened via a series of random events.
There is growing belief amongst psychologists that there is an afterlife. Nurses and doctors in hospitals have seen similar behaviour amongst terminally ill people before they die. In most instances they experience visits from dead family members and then appear unafraid of what is going to happen to them. There have been accounts of angels visiting before death and some people have seen what they believe are 'spirits' leaving the person upon death.
Obviously not everyone believes that this is evidence of an afterlife, but it is intriguing nonetheless and I like to believe that we go on living after death.

Sure there is an afterlife...... I believe live your life the way you want to live it because once you are gone you are in Heaven....... no work no need for money no need to be on time ! I see ghosts in my house all the time well 4 are here all the time. they look peaceful and happy and have no worries so they are definitely in heaven.
I also believe we are put on this earth as a test for the afterlife. we are put here to prove we are worthy and once we have failed too many tests we die and have to start over as another person or being to repeat those tests and once we have completed them we die and never return. tests as in no stealing, no lying, hard working, being responsible, that sort of thing.

I believe in God and the afterlife. It's a matter of faith. Someone once said:
'It is better to behave as though there is a God and then die and find out that there is not, than to live your life as though there was not a God and then die and find out that there is!

Christianity, which has its roots in the Bible, says that we go to either Heaven or Hell after we die. Whether we go to Heaven depends on whether we have accepted the Lord Jesus as our savior, as payment for our sins before God. We realize that we are unworthy before God on our own and accept Jesus' sacrificial death.
The answerer who had references to the watchtower is also likely a Jehovah's Witness, which mainstream Christianity considers a cult.
I also agree that this should be in the religion section.

Well, I guess I do in a way. I dont beileve in good and evil in deterining afterlife. I dont really beileve in time....I think it is an illusion. I tend to the all life is one energy and it just changes forms. I once thought everything was meaningless until my experiments with meitation and enthegenic substances...and after that I knew there was truth out there....but I dont think any one knows what it is organized religion or science.
