I always seem to go the extreme to look like "great" when I go in public and I try to make sure my material things match my "status" in society, but how do I get my true feelings to match my outside "appearance"

Those things don't matter, Material things, cars, purses, expensive this and that. This is dangerous because you base your self worth on how other people view you. Rather than do that, forget about all the material things....forget about having to be a certain "status" Love yourself, talk to yourself kindly and you will have high self-esteem because it comes from you. NOT from the OUTSIDE :)

That's perfectionism, unrealistic expectations, because no matter how hard you try, how much you do , you spend so much time on doing those type of things that you miss out on the rest of life , trying to always be in control.

And that is a symptom of low self-esteem.

Therapy will help with low self-esteem as will reading books on self-esteem like the Six Pillars of Self-Esteem.

People with healthy senses of self-esteem have no need to be arrogant or look perfect or be perfect or constantly be in control. They're happy with who they are , what they do, how they relate to the world. They're happy for others' successes and have no need to one upping everyone .

Who said you have to? Of course u don't. Try ones to go outside with no make up and with most simple clothes in place u have never been before and just sit, enjoy some drink or food and watch people without judging them. Then tell us how you felt.

Sounds like you have it backward. You need to have your outside appearance match the inside. Believe me, if you show people your true self with confidence, they will envy you.

I don't believe that one has anything at all to do with the other...

It is like comparing Apples... With furniture.

Can you put an outfit on a human condition and have it be copacetic to its meaning?

Experiment with different styles of clothing. Whatever you feel you like wearing should be a direct comparison of your inner being.
