I thought Letterman was great when he hosted, but most didn't like him or his humor. Oh well.
I'm going with Ellen. I agree that she was dull last night. Too bad. I really like her & was looking forward to her as a host. She just didn't cut it. Not funny at all. The bit with the Hoover was really dumb and boring.

It's commonly held that Letterman totally bombed.
I liked John Stewart, personally... but Letterman just couldn't make his act work for the award show.

Billy Crystal. He annoys the sh*t out of me with his little song-and-dance "performances"... Ellen was laid-back, pretty cool vibe.
