I find myself being a bigger Chesterton fan -- Chesterton's style is inimitably marvelous (though Lewis is no slouch). I think that Chesterton in the end is going to be proven the better prophet too.

For me, there is always a faint aroma of the don about Lewis. Chesterton has an enormous intellect (he had an enormous evertything! ;) ), but he is able to express himself in a journalistic style. A style, one might say, especially suited for the modern age.

I think if I were having a party, I would rather have Chesterton there -- if I had to choose!! I'm glad we have both, but Chesterton is the deeper of the two.

I don't know Chesterton. The C.S. Lewis stuff I've read hasn't been very good.

I like both, but I'm a gigantic Lewis fan. One thing about Lewis is that he wrote in so many different genres and I find that impressive. Plus his fantasy, mythology and Sci-Fi is superb.
