My husband and I are moving to an apartment that does not have a washer and dryer hookup. If we are unable to sale our current washer and dryer, I was wondering how you dispose of the appliances?

The local landfill or recycling depot will probably take them for a fee. $10-$15 most likely.

It is possible that a local appliance repair shop would take them if they are working (or even if they are not). Try calling around and see what your options are.

call one of the scrap guys in the newspaper. they will usually come and pick it up for free as they will put it with other scrap they have and take it in and get money for it. not really worth our time b/c it's not a lot, but the guys will make money on a really big load, that's why they might even pay a small amount to you!!

call the city and they can direct you on how to dispose. Also you can take it to a second hand/Pawn shop to get a little something for it.
