What does "playing someone hot and cold" mean?

Like, definition, what does it entail, why people do it, how do the people getting played usually react, etc. and most importantly -- if someone is being played hot and cold, how do they turn the tables on the player?

for me example i be hot all time and my mom be cold all time.so we just compromise a lot.then i will get mad with her and leave the house.because she old and i understand.

Playing someone hot and cold all the time means that one minute you're attentive and kind and the next you're cold and aloof. It's a classic form of manipulation in dysfunctional relationships of any kind. The victims of this tactic usually end up thinking that the "cold spells" are due to something THEY'VE done and they're constantly walking on eggshells. I was involved with a passive-aggressive personality type like this and the only way to turn the table on them is to not react to the cold spells. It's like a form of discipline that you use with a child....you only react favorably to the good behavior...and ignore the bad. The manipulator is actually only looking for your fear-based reactions because deep down, they don't feel worthy of the loving ones, and to them being feared is more powerful than being respected or cared for. They'll stop trying to manipulate you once you stop reacting to it.

whilst a female is enjoying warm and chilly it skill that they are enjoying not basic to get. We as female, do not understand why we try this. One minute it variety of feels as though we are all right into a guy and the subsequent we are distance. female will not be able to stay with them and would't stay with out them.
