no,it is best to wear a nice shirt,pants(not jeans) or a skirt(not to short).you can also wear a dress.

as a rule, smart casual means something like a smart shirt with trousers or chinos. However if you wear a tie or suit jacket then you are over dressing.
By the same token, certainly you must wear full length trousers and avoid jeans.
As a rule, go with your judgement, and if you think that something is a little close to the line than don't risk it.
After all there is nothing more embarrassing than turning up to an event and looking out of place! If in doubt go on the smarter side.

Those brand name jeans ARE smart casual.. just add nice shoes or boots and a complimentary blouse and jacket. A nice leather purse and not too much jewelry and make up will do just fine. (what the manager is trying to avoid is.. sweats and T shirts with nasty words and gothic garb and biker colors.) Have fun!

Yes but make sure they are very dark blue or black and wear appropriate footwear. Your top, jacket and hair should be very smart since the jeans are casual. And this will work as you are female but in general jeans are not considered smart attire!

well, just wear some nice quality jeans that are dark! Throw some heels on to the outfit, with a cute shirt that is HOT! And if you like, you could put your hair up in curls.

Of course you can wear jeans, just dress it up with a cuts top. I suggest wearing a dark denim jean that's a skinny leg, or frames your body nicely. Wear a cute lacy top, or one with a pretty design. You'll be comfortable, and you'll look great!

No, Smart casual and business casual are considered the same.
(At least in the Midwest). Slacks and sweater is in, Jeans are out.

You can actually wear jeans but it needs to be in dark washed or color. Stay away from stressed denims or the ones that has a rugged look to it.

well it depends if you don't want to ware black pants or a dress/skirt then ware jeanes but make them not to dark and then ware like kinnda a nice top so you at least look a little classie and if you don't ware jeans then ware nice blck pants or a skirt and it depens apon how hot you think you will be in the resterant
