I would have to say Yes because they evolved from little skits way back when to what they are today. They have became part of our society in more ways then one because no show is more memorable, well enjoyed, and one that everyone can adapt and worship when it comes on. The later seasons aren't to impressive but the older classics are part of our culture today.

i don't know if you would call them cultural icons but i am certain they will go down in history as a sign of our culture at that time.

I believe they are and here is my reason why: I was out at the bar this weekend and there was a large group of people in front of me who ordered flaming shots, I heard somone behind me ask if they were flaming moes! :)
