Goldfish do no longer want a heater yet require a 10 gallon in step with fish minimum tank with an further sturdy clear out by way of huge bioload. They arise to eight inches long and stay 20 - 30 yrs with suitable care. The fancier the goldfish, the stricter the standards. Bettas on the different hand could be stored in a million.5 - 2 gallon mini tanks which you could purchase with a clear out already in it. next project nevertheless? they're tropical fish and require a heater. They stay to around 3 yrs if dealt with exact. Your maximum suitable wager is to get a mini tank kit for a betta at around 5 gallons so which you could purchase a mini heater (if one isn't lined) and put in a betta and perchance a dwarf African frog and a few decor. it is going to likely be a exceptionally tank with froggie antics and the grace of a betta in despite shade she's partial to.

Hey G P
You're taking a bit of abuse here but I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt for a moment.
Perhaps your friend was using a joking manner to explain that these fish can get very big. In this respect he is right.
A common goldfish can live for over 30 years and grow over a foot long. The problem is they need very large tanks of over 75 gallons or ponds to do so, and it takes a very long time to reach these sizes.
On a more realistic level if you cang get him a tank of 25 gallons and learn how to feed it and maintain the tank properly, he will grow healthy and big for you and live for many years to come.

It wont grow into a salmon just as big as one! For it to reach that size it needs a very large tank and then a very large pond! A good diet and correct water conditions will help a great deal as well!

You need to recreate the freshwater lakes and rivers of the highlands in your living room to get your goldfish to remain healthy and eventually turn into a Salmon. Good luck with that!

No, I'm sorry it is totally impossible but you still must look after it well, it may not grow into a salmon but it will make a lovely pet if you take good care of it.

There's one breed of Goldfish that grows into a Salmon Size. I don't know the name of the breed but you can find them at Aquario Vasco da Gama in Lisbon

Get a big fish tank or have a pond installed.
If you feed the fish every week (not just flakes, get him some brine shrimp as well) he'll grow pretty big (though not salmon size).
They live pretty long as well, I've had mine for 5 years.

Your friend might want to recheck this "goldfish to Salmon" theory because it's not going to happen

If you give it water that flows from a waterfall it will help it exercise and be fit and healthy. If you give it seawater, it will turn into a shark too! Santa might get you that bigger tank when it grows if you ask nicely!
