I'm so so sick of ppl who have NEVER been pregnant dishing out unwanted advice.
Eg. today i had to take bedrest cuz I got less than an hour's sleep for the whole night and my dr advised me to get more shut eye now cuz its really important as the baby needs it and so do I

Well, some1 just told me that you dont really need it. I mean she's never been pregnant and only I know wat i feel right now.. (See my prev question)

Anyone else feel the same ????
Anyone else been given pregnancy advice from ppl who were never pregnant n think they always right???

I know what you mean! I always hated that when i was pregnant...its like, ok...shut up because you dont know what you are talking about! I think that everyone just thinks that they are entitled to an opinion when it comes to a pregnant woman..it seems like EVERYBODY has some input. And you are right, only you know what you are feeling right now. When ppl bombard you with unwanted advice, it makes you want to lock yourself in your house until the birth. But, try not to get stressed out or anything, just tell those people in the nicest way that you can exactly what you think. Either that or just nod your head and smile...they should get the hint if you dont respond with a conversation.

LOL i agree, if you have never been pregnant then how would you know how i am suppose to feel! that is what i would have said to her.
and yes it is very important to get a lot/enough (although it never seems enough) sleep when you are pregnant, your doctor did the right thing by advising you to get more shut eye.

I didn't know about this when I was pregnant but my friends still gave me more than enough "advice". None of them were pregnant or ever had kids. But that's teenagers for you, they all have an opinion that they believe is the most intelligent ever, which it never is. People shouldn't try to answer questions on here that they have no experience in.

HAHA!!! I hear you girl!!! I am 33 weeks...and about to kill anyone who says anything to me about how I feel!!! I know how hard it is to talk to some women anyways...but when they try to tell you how you should or should not feel it is annoying!!!

Although...I also hate it when women who have been pregnant give you advice!!! Not all pregnancies are the same!!! I dont feel the same way another woman at 33 weeks feels!!! Giving advice is nice...but sometimes it is just unwanted!!!

Now...when it is your mom...well, then you just have to listen!! Mom's do know best!!! HAHA!!!

I've been given pregnancy advice and child rearing advice from everyone - parent or not !!!

Just smile, be polite and say "Thanks and no offense, but I think I'll take the advice of my obstetrician". Of course, once the baby is born, just substitute obstetrician for pediatrician.

Just let it roll off your back and walk away smiling as you think about that person realizing that you basically told them that unless they go through 4 years of medical school and 8-12 years of residency and internship their advice does not count.

Good luck and feel better.,....and get some rest.

I get unwanted advice all the time. Amazingly enough most of the unwanted advice comes from men, what do they know anyway right? I just try to be polite and take what I can from it. I totally understand where your coming from though, hahaha.

Good luck with your pregnancy, and God bless! Get lots of rest hun!

It is deffinately frustrating. I mean moms understand eachother because that is what unites all of us is the experience we all share being a mom. Its not someones business when they don't know or understand. You do need your sleep, it could be detremental to your health and it is not going to help when it comes time to delivery...trust me on that one lol. I know your frustration.
