Really tough to answer this without more details. I DO know that adults in the colonial New England area slept sitting up or semi-reclining. Their beds were short and the headboard featured a lot of bolsters and pillows so they could. I assume this was for two reasons (1) saving space in the room and (2) gastro-intestinal problems.

probably similar to that of native americans.. bland. very very.. there woudl have been no spices and the only additive to food flavour woudl ahve been berries and possibly salt they the community happened to live close enough to an area where salt was available from the earth
