if you are using windows xp, try right clicking on the desktop and choose themes...try choosing the windows classic theme instead of the bubbly winxp style...this sped up my computer considerably....you might also check to make sure you don't have a lot of pictures that are large files...also, go to add/remove programs and make sure you don't have some programs you don't use and could remove....lastly, go to your task manager and look at the process list....google any process you don't recognize and you may find an addware/spyware you didn't know you had....but DON'T close any process for this menu since a process that is sharing files with another program could mess up the program if it is closed....good luck!

Do you have too many programs installed on your computer, try uninstalling the ones you don't need or use anymore.

If that doesn't work then you might need more memory or RAM.

Type in msconfig at the run line(" start menu, run") and uncheck some of the programs that start at start up. You may want to add some more memory too.
