They had some good moments, but four hours is just too long.

I thought it was the best Oscars I have seen in a long time! It was fresh, honest and funny. Yes, there were a few political jokes involving Al Gore. However, they were appropriate and on target because his film was one of the nominees. I thought it was hilarious when Leo asked Al Gore if he had any big announcements and the music started playing as he began to make the announcement. Generally, I don't like Al Gore, but last night I thought he was a really good sport and made an upbeat message instead of the pot shots he could have chosen to make.
When Sid went through the stuff for the Academy like an auctioneer, I almost died laughing. The musical score during that and other clips was right on. And the dance troupe was incredible. I even enjoyed the lesser known nominee clips like sound editing. The way they presented the nominees was entertaining and informative this year. Some of the acceptance speeches were incredible. I was completely moved by Jennifer Hudson and by Forrest Whittaker. And Ellen made hosting look effortless, walking around and involving the audience was a lot more interesting than just hearing someone do stand-up.
I loved it!

It was the best, power was out most of the evening, when restored the cable was out and still is, and so i just checked the results on the internet, what a great way to experience the Oscars, sans glitter, sans politics, sans twits, they should just have a tea, give the awards and put the results on the net with their speaches, and then we can read a good book by candlelight waiting for the results!

I thought the only good part was the song with Will Ferrell, Jack Black and John C. Reilly. Otherwise, it wasn't funny and not very entertaining. Then again, it is the Oscars. It is rarely entertaining (though it will probably win an Emmy next year. -- Go figure.)

I'd say just ok. I hate all the political gab they use that event to say - it's not right. I actually don't usually watch because we never see any of the movies, but for some reason we had it on. It was ok. I do not like Al Bore, oops, I mean, Gore.

It was quite comedic. It ran a little long. The honorary oscar winners spoke a little too much.
