I am looking to answer an ad for a job. They don't want a resume, but I'd like to say I am really interested and licensed for it. I also want to get more information about the job. I'm stuck on how to make it short and to the point. It's for real estate sales. Any pointers??

If they say they don't want a resume but list a phone number, they want to see how personable you are on the phone (and maybe how you respond when you're put on the spot).

Before calling, write down a list of what you want to convey to them - that you're licensed; recent relevent experience (highlights); your current availability... anything you think is important that they know about you when comparing you to other applicants.

Also have the names and phone numbers/contact info for any professional references you can give them. Make sure your references know they may be called - and even if the business does not end up calling your references, being able to provide them on the spot says a lot.

One last tip - if you stand up while talking to them on the phone, your voice sounds stronger and you'll convey more confidence.

Good luck!

Your question seems confusing. You are searching for a JOB or a real estate sales ad ?

I would recommend that you tell them how long you have had your license and what your sales were for the last year; If you have won any awards for your work and your ranking within your office/area.
