I broke up with my ex because we havent been the same since I got back from vacation two months ago. We have been fighting and just not connecting like we used to. I cheated while I was gone, and informed my ex of this after we had broken up. I feel awful, but I couldn't go on letting them take the blame for why we broke up. I don't want to lose this person from my life. I know that we can never be together again, but we aren't even talking, I try but get no response. I know that I made a horrible mistake, first by cheating, and then by lying, but it was totally out of character for me, I am usually very attentive and caring, and go out of my way to take care of people around me. I just want to know what, if anything, I could ever do to repair at least our friendship. Is there any way I can make this better?

Someone who loved you has been deeply hurt and shocked. You are going to have to give them some time to see how they feel. I would say respect their wishes for a couple of months - then try and see after that if the friendship can be repaired some. It might not be possible on their end to accept you again, but hoping for both of your sakes that you can patch it up down the line!

Think of your pain is the situation was reversed. The pain that he now feels.Don't forget, ever that pain this has caused everyone involved.Move on and learn,do unto others as you would have them do unto you,and grow.Pain is a *****,sorry.

Time heals all wounds. So just leave him alone for a little while.
