I am planning a 2-3 week orlando/disney vacation. I want to rent a condo or villa and make several small trips to see the real florida. Nature, beach, historical places... Thanks for the tips.

Hi Mellissa:

I've lived in the Daytona Beach area for several years and your question is a good one.

First, it depends on the time of year. In the winter months it's hard to beat a day trip to St Augustine. The setting is spectacular, and the architecture of the old city is a sight to behold.

In Daytona, speedweek in Febuary can be a blast if you're a NASCAR fan. Here's a tip, you can get tickets fairly easily for the Bud Shoot out, far easier than for the 500.

In the summer months, the beaches are the place to go. I recommend Ponce Inlet as a great one, and you can drive on the beach!

There's a lot more, but that's good for starters.

Enjoy...

On the west coast we have lovely beaches and barrier islands. Sarasota has the Ringling Museum. St. Armand's Circle is a great place to walk around and shop. St. Pete has the Salvadore Dali museum and the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI). Tarpon Springs is a historic Greek fishing village with cute gift shops and sponge diving excursions. Cocoa Beach is a must see and you should drive down to South Beach. Miami is an amazing place. And how could you not go to the Keys? So much to see and do.

Yep i did this last year for my honeymoon. We just booke flights and truck and moved from place to place. We started at Orlando and worked our way down to the Keys and back up to Daytona. Would recomend Gator Land, Bush Gardens, Epcot and Discovery Cove best place ever you have to book this in advance though if you wanna swim with the dolphons! Also for beaches, Fort Myers is lovely and St Petes Beach also lovely, but be warned all beaches on the left side of florida are really hot! As for shows, you cant miss Cirque du solei, best show ever. Miami is a must see to - there are loads of restuarants and bars along the beach front and plenty of shops! If you get down as far as the Keys then there is place in between Key Largo and Key West it is called the Sportsman- you wont miss it, well just behind the big shop is a little restuarant on the harbour and a beutiful sun set view you would'nt want to miss, but also around 8pm they feed the sharks, and they all come in and you can watch them all go made for the left over meet. Sounds scarey but its not its a definate must see! Im so jealous now i wanna go back! Have fun and dont forget your high factor sun lotion!

I in simple terms went over the summer. 5 days isnt a lengthy time period. in case you adore rides, do not evaluate on procuring each Disney cost ticket because you gained;'t have time yet Magic Kingdom and EPCOT have extra rides than the different 2 yet MGM is a cool position. usual/islands of journey is a important position. some suggestion, if its a sunny day pass to islands of journey. If it rains/ thunders they close all the rides, unlike usual because they're all interior. Take a walk on over to IDRIVE in orlando. they have some good pricing for motels and many eating places. it really is likewise 3-5 miles from usual. per chance 13 miles from Disney. some motels even grant transportation to the parks. Thats what I were given. there turned right into a coach bus that drove us to a from the park. also diverse amusements there on IDRIVE, pass karts, arcade, mini amusement park. some thing else you wanna comprehend enable me comprehend for any of the parks u ought to stay late at the same time as its darkish they were given tremendous shows at nighttime o ya SEA international is tremendous. Such a fabulous position and Im in college. no longer for toddlers in any respect. in case you stay to inform the tale disney resources, assume to pay atleast $230-three hundred a nighttime

Cape Canaveral- its only like an hour away. They have a nice museum and tour you can take. If its close to a Space Shuttle launch, you might see it on the pad, of if there is a launch while you are there, there are plenty of places you could watch it from. Its a very definite worthwhile stop!
