After all, the war has exacerbated the global terrorist threat, because it's become a cause celebre among Muslim fundamentalists and now a whole new generation of terrorists is being bred. We also have a record deficit that keeps growing. And even worse, our global reputation is in the toilet. Sure, we may be the lone superpower now, but we're not the only country in the world and we do have to maintain relations with the rest of the planet.

ph_yo: In case you've forgotten, it was Osama bin Laden who was responsible for the 9/11 attacks and he was based in Afghanistan.

Bush has done more damage to this country then any other in recent memory. We have thrown fuel on a powder keg in Iraq and where the mess in the middle east evolves is anyone's guess. I suspect we'll see Iraq fall to Shii'ite hands, and, a bigger war between Sunni controlled Middle Eastern nations, and, Al Qaeda with Iran's support, will insue.

Well we could say this,, at lease we the USA haven't being attack since 9/11.. But what about the damage that the illegal aliens are doing with their uncontrolled invasion into our country. What about the big secret deal with Canada, Mexico and the US government that are discussing in order to become one country. The USA paying for the benefits and economical gains of the Mexicans in Mexico. And all of this with out the authorization of the Congress or the American people. You will see that in 10 or 20 years the USA will not be the USA as we all know it today, it be worse, just like Mexico. Iraq is nothing compare to what the Bush administration and the big corporations are planning for all of us. Be on the look out !!!

America will not begin recovering until we leave Iraq and bring our troops home. America needs to face the facts of our own reality.
America is not the greatest Country in the World because we have now killed or been responsible for killing a million and half people since 1960, at least.
Greatness is not made from bullets, bombs, bad military decisions and carelessness.
We can recover, but it will take some real soul searching on the part of most Americans, and then some major reform.
What is the point of making all this money if we can not stop a predicted attack on us, and we can make good military decisions after we get caught in a smoke filled room laughing about political one-up-man-ship.

i will just address the question in bold lettering, 'will the USA recover from the damage of the war in Iraq',,,after pondering an extraordinary amount of time on this the answer hit me...i dont think its as much as the USA recovering from the damage of the war, but isnt it how will IRaq recover from the damage...i mean think about it, what if you owned a real estate development in one of those many posh suburbs of Bagdad, you go one saturday to clean up the yard , broom off the walks, but as you pull down your street, your hoping that pile of rubble and broken bricks scattered for a 3 mile radius, - really isnt whats left of that photo-mart and pizzeria, you were once so very proud of... see where im going with this?..or maybe you go down to the the corner market to buy a new towell for your head, and you quickly discover there is not even a corner THERE anymore,, what the .??? ...so ya, thats what im talkin about~~~~.

certainly this made me think of.each and all of the furore on the subject of the Mosque in long island being an insult to individuals because of the fact of their loss however the yank government intentionally targetted Iraq because of the fact of 9/11 and it resulted interior the deaths of hundreds of hundreds of Muslims.yet all of us comprehend Iraq had not something to do with it.I reckon they owe them that Mosque as a manner of asserting sorry. Nancy:Saddam carried those out for the period of a era whilst he replace into being supported by skill of the U.S. certainly armed by skill of the U.S. easily you are able to comprehend that?Iraq replace into an unlawful invasion and an unmitigated disaster and squaddies have been despatched in under fake pretences. There would possibly be good issues that don't get stated yet have been the deaths of a sizeable sort of a functional value to pay for usa to get it is foothold in Iraq?usa supported Saddam, set him as much as knock him down and flow on in.does not be the 1st time they have performed that card.

The war has not increased global terrorism. Again.. why do you attempt to place the blame on America that the fanatical idiots of Muslim faith plot to kill civilians across the world? INCLUDING countries that have no ties to the war in Iraq! The only reason they receive terroristic attacks is because they are not Muslim countries. PLACE THE BLAME WHERE IT SHOULD BE! Regardless of your opinion on American policies... If the terrorists weren't already in operation, then we would not be in the middle east. And yes, we will recover.. just like after VietNam.

I guess we can pull out now and let all those Iraqi's that depended on us to help them set up a democratic government just be slaughtered by a bunch of radical islamist funded by Iran. The we can let them have control of the country and they can then control the middle east. Not a scare tactic. Just logic and common sense. Our tax cuts are generating enough income that we curb our spending we will have surplus within a year. Who the hell cares what the world thinks. Who is the world? France, Russia, Iran? They have their own agenda believe me and what they think is of no consequence to me. We do maintain relations with the world and we give a lot back to the world. You just don't hear about it from the liberal left wing media. Let's be a little realistic here. Do you honestly believe that the world will be cured of all its ills if a democrat is elected? If you say yes, you are far more gullible than one could imagine.

America will be just fine. As you stated it was OBL and his group that staged the attack that broke the camel's back. The cause celebre already existed and it was about time that someone did something about it instead of getting a bj. By the way what would you have done if you were president. Better yet if someone killed your family would you go out and by them a new Lexus. That seems to be you logic.

The reputation of the USA will never recover from this damage. George Bush has created terrorists and hatred by the deaths of so many innocents in Iraq. He made martyrs of them. He cost us the goodwill of the world on this one. I don't think the USA will recover from this nor do I think Iraq will. The damages done are too great on this.
