hope you're not going alone, and preferably going with a male companion. my friend and i (both female) had real hassle when we were in morocco

hotel scherazade is gorgeous
djema el fnaa (square is a must see, and the market is good for shopping, don't forget to barter HARD)
cafes and pastry shops are good
the jardins majorelles are beautiful
museums are good too

it's a nice city but very touristy

if you have time take a trip thru the todra gorge, or try to get to one of the other cities, casablanca is dull for a tourist, but Fez is great, and meknes is good for getting to the roman ruins at volubilis

Make reservations for dinner at Yacout -- it's a very memorable dining experience. When I was there we hired a driver through our hotel which was inexpensive and well worth it -- they can take you to all the major sites in and out of the medina. We also went to a hammam and had a traditional body scrub. Again, very memorable and a good way to really experience the culture. Lastly, going to see La Mamounia hotel is nice if you aren't staying there. We chose to stay at a small boutique hotel in the medina instead of staying there and loved it.

djemaa el fna is the best place to go, it's the main square filled with food vendors, storytellers and snake charmers

it's the most famous place in the country, and represents the whole culture

the other interesting places are the souks (shops), koutoubia mosque, and the rest of the medina in general

if you look like an obvious westerner, don't trust anyone
