my first was 3 hours, and i'm pregnant with #2 so i am SCARED that it will be faster! agh! my mom told me last night that when she had me, her labor was 2 hours, but with my younger sister it was 12 hours because she was coming out shoulder first. so maybe as long as there are no complications, it will be fine. also are you exercising? i swear that's why mine was so fast! and genes too...

I was induced with all 3 of mine. The first was 5 hours and 50 minutes. The second was 5 hours and 1 minute. The third was 3 hours and 30 minutes. They get faster and A LOT easier. You know more what to expect so you are more relaxed and therefore the contractions do their job better. Good luck

I'm glad that you asked this question. I'm in the same boat as you (but 24 weeks)! I was in labour for 28 1/2 hours with my first child, so I really hope it will be a lot easier the second time around.
Good luck!

I have 3 children and my second was quicker and easier than my first, but the third was harder than the other two because he was bigger. What you have to remember is that every baby is different and every pregnancy is different as well. Generally speaking though, the first birth is the most difficult because your body has never been through labor before. Best of luck and congratulations!!!

I've had three children, all induced. My first one was 23 hours, second was 6 hours, and the third was 28 hours. The second was easiest, the third was the hardest. I guess it is not always true that they get easier. Every child, pregnancy, and labor is different.

For me, my second was harder. I think is because I waited 10yrs to have my second. My first was way easier, I was in labor for about 20hrs but the pain wasn't as bad as the second. I would like to think that it was also because I was younger back then. I have heard that the second time around it's easier but not in my case. Maybe it will be for you and if your getting the epidural then ur fine. I did it naturally both times but trust me, if I was to go a third time, I will be getting that shot quick action. Good luck..

yes! I was in labor for 27 hours with my first, I was induced. My 2nd was born three weeks ago, and she came into the world after only 7 1/2 hours of labor and fifteen minutes of pushing! And she was 10 lbs! ( I was also induced with her). I was surprised how "easy" my 2nd child's birth really was.

My first I was in labor for 6 hours. My second I was in labor for 1 hour. Barely made it to the hospital. When I got there a nurse had to deliver my baby in a room with other people because they had no time to move me...Came alot quicker...BEWARE...lol

Yes, with my first son, I was unable to move around for a week or so. When I had my second baby I was up in the hospital room & getting around just like I normal.

They say the second one is quicker and at least you know what to expect. I guess mine was my first daughter was 27 hours followed by a C-section and my second daugher was 24 hours followed by yet another C-section! Good luck
