I suppose it depends on your use...

In my work experience, commercial companies seem to use MathCAD more often than not. MathCAD's pretty easy to use, and as far as I recall, cheaper than Mathematica or Maple. My company uses it to set up our everday equations, which provides us with the answers we need, but with no complex modeling.

I used Mathematica in graduate school, mostly for modeling dynamic systems. It was great when it comes to differentiating, especially complex newtonian vectors, and does an awesome job at plotting results. It is a bit harder to use.

There's also MatLab, which is pretty good at finite element/finite volume modeling. Another grad school favorite.

I haven't used Maple in over 10 years, nor have I seen it used anywhere since then. I don't even remember what the GUI looks like.

Out of all of them, and if cost was not a concern, I would definitely select Mathematica.
