I am a writer and I have already start a new story but I'm worried what to do next. I'm from a small country and I can't meet the publisher personaly so I want to use internet but without doing all these selfpublishing things. Is that possible? Could it be free?

It all depends on what you expect to get out of publishing your story. If making a few copies to share with family and friends, there is lulu.com, a print-on-demand website (I don't think they charge anything until you order a copy of your work, check their site to find out) may work for you.
Also, look to local publications: magazines, newspapers, etc. to publish your story. If you work is any good, a local publication may print part of your story, or run a series with your story. This is a great opportunity, as being published in a periodical is a professional reference for when/if you decide to take your work to a higher level.
You could also "publish" your story in a blog (I say publish loosely, as putting your work in a blog is more like a journal post). You may not get many readers, but it would be available to people and it wouldn't cost you a dime.

If you don't want to self-publish in printed book form, you can buy a good ebook production software and then create your own ebook (much cheaper). You can then promote your own ebook by setting up a website, which is e-commerce enabled. There may be publishers of ebooks who may be ready to look at your story. Try internet search or look for Yahoo Groups on writing and publishing.
