It all depends on what you expect to get out of publishing your story. If making a few copies to share with family and friends, there is lulu.com, a print-on-demand website (I don't think they charge anything until you order a copy of your work, check their site to find out) may work for you.
Also, look to local publications: magazines, newspapers, etc. to publish your story. If you work is any good, a local publication may print part of your story, or run a series with your story. This is a great opportunity, as being published in a periodical is a professional reference for when/if you decide to take your work to a higher level.
You could also "publish" your story in a blog (I say publish loosely, as putting your work in a blog is more like a journal post). You may not get many readers, but it would be available to people and it wouldn't cost you a dime.
Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for.

If you don't want to self-publish in printed book form, you can buy a good ebook production software and then create your own ebook (much cheaper). You can then promote your own ebook by setting up a website, which is e-commerce enabled. There may be publishers of ebooks who may be ready to look at your story. Try internet search or look for Yahoo Groups on writing and publishing.

Purchase your own web site (Yahoo) and publish your story to the site. Copywright Law states that the act of publishing is effectively a copywright.
If the story is any good, the meager cost of a web site will be well worth your investment.

Yes, there are many websites publishing junk stories that do not have the legs to make it to become real book. Do a Google search and you'll find thousands, all rubbish.

it extremely is extremely cool. i might like to confirm considered one of your books! i'm going to shop my eye positioned for them! anyhow, in case you desire my truthful opinion Cedric in Harry Potter grow to be no longer an extremely huge function so Robert Pattinson did no longer get as lots attractiveness as he does playing Edward. To be truthful, I lost quite a few admire for him once I heard that he grow to be playing Edward in Twilight. The Twilight sequence in basic terms seems so pretend. i think of it extremely is the undeniable fact that the books are so cliche. Edward is a tortured soul and Bella is uncertain of herself and wager what.....they meet and finished one yet another! that concept seems so overused. The characters appear as if they haven't any character and Bella and Edward different than for being cliche, do no longer look to have a solid dating. I propose, all you pay attention them say is, "Oh, i admire you, you're mind-blowing." yet do they ever also have a communication that would not revolve around themselves? i think of no longer. As for Harry Potter, i'm sort of a fan so i'm probable bias, yet i've got self assurance that J.ok. Rowling in basic terms has a greater useful understanding of human beings and the thank you to make her characters act greater sensible. (different than the witchcraft and stuff, haha.) and that i've got self assurance that Stephenie Meyer gets greater credit than she merits. by how, i'm just about 14 and that i assumed i might positioned that throughout because of fact maximum persons think of that girls my age love Twilight. If I meet a man or woman who enjoys Twilight, particular i'm no longer indignant because of fact i think of it extremely is great that that man or woman is interpreting. To Stephenie Meyer's protection, she has gotten quite a few childrens to start interpreting, it extremely is an extremely solid ingredient. Oh and particular, Twilight does look fantastically corresponding to Romeo and Juliet with the completed forbidden love and the inability to function without one yet another. particular and the word, "2 families the two alike in dignity" does look to 3 up Edward and Jacob's families.
