I'm running a GTX 8800 with Vista Premium. I just built my new computer and sometimes Vista says that my video card driver has stopped working temporarily. I also have trouble running Dark Messiah. Graphics get all messed up, screen goes black etc. Any suggestions? thanks

Double whammy- Vista has the usual bugs that one sees from newly released operating systems, plus the 8800 series is the bleeding edge of video cards. I figure these issues will be resolved by patches over the upcoming month. I'd try turning off full-screen antialiasing and other options one at a time, just to see if you can find one that makes the problem vanish. It's probably a specific card feature that's not implemented properly in Vista.

In the meantime, check Nvidia's site for recent driver updates.

the drivers may not be fully compatable, check the vista site for a solution.
