If you are driving from Queretaro take highway 57 to the North to San Luis Potosi (2 hours). From San Luis Potosi take highway 49 to the NorthWest to Zacatecas (2.15 hours).
Alternatively you can take a first class (Autobus de Primera sometimes called Premier or ETN) bus from concourse A from the Queretaro bus terminal (Terminal de Autobuses) directly to Zacatecas (5 hours). Have a nice trip.
