when the baby has the hiccups, i would describe the feeling as a muscle spasm.. thats what it feels like for me... but my babys hiccups last longer than a min... last night she had them and it was like 25-30 min until she was done with them... call your dr if youre worried.. Good luck and God bless!!!

Babies can move their arms, kick their legs, turn somersaults, and hiccup while in the uterus. As it gets closer to delivery; the baby will move more. I wouldn't worry about it unless there is pain involved or the doctor suspects that there is something wrong with the pregnancy.

It does sound a bit like hiccups. Can you feel your baby move? I would describe feeling hiccups like a light rythmic movement. Hiccups are quite common for babies before they are born. This does not bother them at all. However, if you are worried talk to your doctor.

Ask your doctor to be certain, but I always had hiccups when I was a baby so I think it is completely normal. My mom said she and my father could watch her tummy hop each time I'd hiccup!
