Did you set up your router's web interface? Open your web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer or Firefox or what ever you use). Type the IP address of your router into the URL address bar. If you don't know it check your router's user guide/manual.

For linksys the default IP address is: 192.168.1.1
For netgear (and d-link I believe) it's: 192.169.0.1

It should prompt you for a username and password.

Default for linksys: username: (leave blank) password: admin
Default for netgear: username: admin password: password

Once inside you better change your username/password to something more secure-->THAT'S how your router can get hacked (and your PC too).

If you have a wireless router, then password protect THAT too, with a WEP or WPA or whatever security option is available for your router. If you want to reset everything back to Factory Defaults, there should be an option for that somewhere inside OR you can look for a small reset button on the outside of the router (hold it in for 15-30 seconds).

Honestly though, it sounds like it might be a DNS issue. On your computer go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > right click your LAN or Local Area Connection and left click "Repair." Then try again to get to the sites you couldn't get to before.

By the way, that article in the first answer is a good read. You should really check it out.

Yes, guy above already posted the link to the news story about that which made the news about 2 weeks ago.

Things to do, flash your router's firmware to a newer version or just reflash the version already loaded... change the default password. Disable remote http logging...
