Do you think she is deserving of an Oscar or not?

I am proud of her but I wish she hadn't won the Oscar.
She won the Golden Globe and that should have been it.
The reason I say this is because she is building a house without a foundation.
Her problem now is what is she going to do to top winning an Oscar?
The Heat is truly on for girlfriend. I wish her God's strength and wisdom.

Definitely deserving. She really blew me away in Dreamgirls, and not just with her voice. Hers was the most authentic, honest acting performance in the film. Granted, I never saw Notes on a Scandal and I would have been just as happy to see Adriana Barraza win for Babel. (She was amazing in it.) But I was fine with Jennifer taking the top prize.

I think she gave an amazing performance vocally & acting-wise. It was her first ever movie role and she nailed it completely. She deserved it.

her performance in dreamgirls was outstanding.

yes, she is truly blessed with wondeful talent. For this to be her first movie, it's a huge accomplishment.

Overated- I think it was a solid performance but other nominees were better.
