Some of the responses here are in bad taste. Even one person had gone to an extent saying that it is because some of the people in BCCI are against Muslim. That's actually funny... If that is the case, Irfan, Zaheer, Munaf wouldn't be there in the team either. That's 30% of the team!!!.. Have some mind you guys before you pass on your immature comments.
I feel people are biased with their favoritism. I see no issues with Kaif being dropped. He failed.. How can we forget his bad form. He is not a class batsman or he is not a match winner to continue to be in the same seat. He can probably add some 30-40 runs once in a while. But even tail-enders can get those runs. He cannot single-handedly win the matches for India unlike Yuvraj, Sehwag, Dhoni etc.,. You better take a specialist batsman who had been proven before. Being a good fielder doesn't earn a place unless you are like Gibbs or Johnty Rhodes. He should be happy for being in top 30. Expecting him to be in top 15 is mere greed.
If we need to bring up State bias, then we should also be talking about AP. Laxman has been given unfair treatment. He is much better than some of the batsmen that got selected. So, if everyone think about their states, then you will find problems because you can only have 11 players.
Think as Indians you guys.. not as muslims, christians, hindus, UP or AP walas.

Boss... He was a failure. Total failure..Look at his record. Unless he like Johnty Rhodes or Herschelle Gibbs that would win matches through fielding, he would be a liability.
If you are fan, it's natural for you to feel that way. Look at his performances as a neutral person. Other than chucking pads every now and then, his contribution has been very little. HE was only hit during Natwest series but it was mostly due to Yuvraj and others than him. Really speaking, when he comes to crease, the run rate will drop down immensely if he doesn't get out... I get my nerves on seeing the way he bats.
don't be too emotional. he has a long way to go before he can earn a place in Indian team. He was given plenty of chance that he didn't use. Don't blame Bcci for it.

yes... kaif is also one of great admirable players in the recent history of indian cricket... he has not been in a good decent form since his comeback from his injury... for the past 2 years he dint show anykind of signs of being a good batsman... of course he is the best fielder ever in indian history.. we indians are very much lucky to have such a person our country... we have a team of only 11 players which includes 5 batsman 1 wicket keeper and 5 bowlers.. so we cant find a place for a fielder in the team and no cricket playing team does it.. so he doesnt deserve the place... anyone in the team can do his job atleast upto 50%.. but he cant do all others work... so i dont think it is shabby work by not considering kaif.. do remember one thing even raina missed in the team.. who recently gave some decent knocks for the team and won matches for our team...

Jaggie's answer is awesome.
Kaif does not deserve a place in our squad because he is not better than any of the other batsmen, simple! Anyway, if 1 more batsman had to be picked, it would be Laxman, purely cuz Laxman can actually win a match for India, unlike Kaif who makes 20-30 runs in a match which we're gonna win anyway.

Sorry to hear about ur strong feelings about ur fav cricketer Md. Kaif..
But he hasn't won matches for us either by saving runs for India by fielding or by batting a remarkable innings to win matches 4 India.. However cricketers like Yuvraj, Kumble are all match winners and they could things around anytime!! Anyway we can hope that Mohammed Kaif makes a comeback to Team India soon by doing sheer hard work.. :-)

come on, pal, let us not be sentimental. It is a tough world and let us face it- Kaif has not performed. If he performs well in domestic cricket i am sure he will come back like Ganguli, Zaheer and Irfan.

I can understand your feelings. But when it comes to the performance he has lot to work back at domestic level. He has lost his touch as a match winner. I think it is correct decision to give him time to prove himself.
