Distributed means each individual node is not local to the others. Clustered means each node is local to the others. Think of the meaning of the words - distributed means multiple items spread out; clustered means multiple items placed together; in a "cluster".

A good way to visualize it is imagine a rack of servers in a datacenter. That could be considered a cluster of servers. Then imagine Folding@Home or SETI@Home - programs where many people participate by using their own PCs to help process data. The individual PCs are distributed - none of them are local to each other; none of them are aware of each other or can see each other, but they are all working together like clustered systems.
