Yes i want to be a police officer. I want to help my community hands on and law enforcement has always been someting that i wanted to do. WHat steps are there to becoming a cop and how long does it usually take.
(im also tired of stereo types with cops involving doughnuts, shooting people for no reason, being a highschool bully. etc. so if u dont have a logical answer then do not respond to this question)

Look for a police academy. It should take like 9 months or so. And they usually ask that u have 60 college credits not necessarily in a degree. You have to really like they job because the pay is sucky and I've seen being a cop change alot of people into being a really mean, ignorant, and intolerant person. You also get job burnout and they will start you out part time as a patrolman.

You need to get a college degree in law inforcement, criminal justice, or something similar. Then, to join anything other than a small town force, you'll probably have to go to a police academy.
Several of my friends have gone through the state police academy in the state where I live. One said another cadet with him told him it was harder than Marine boot camp. But it's doable - there are people that do it every year. Study hard, don't do anything stupid between then and now to jeopardize your chances (like a drunken driving charge, drug use, theft, etc) and you can make it.

Learn the Legal code of the state, county and or city you are going "trying" to work for. Learn to be extremely agile and fast with your hands speed will likely save your life after a while everything seems surreal because you will hear horror story after horror story and see people you even pity.
It's hard to explain the feeling plus people often times put to much faith and hero worship into you or on you and if you do not meet their expectations that person will kind of hate you.

first off you have to be racist and a jerk... then you have to be able to live off 20,000.00 a year .. and finally, you to be able to live with the fact that you will ruin people's lives.
