If i try mysql on my home xp based pc what software i should install and from where i will get it?

oh yeah
thats a big one
either you can install mysql server and apache individually and manage it
but thats going to be a really tough one
gauging from the fact that you are a student not a prof i guess the best thing would be a software called easyphp it has both mysql server and apache andthat works pretty smooth.. its a zero config situation where you dont have to do anything other than install the software
its a freeware
search and you'll get what u want

just download phptriad2-2-1.exe programme and install this will install phptools and servers apache and you can use mysql command in it ..
you check for last version ..
