I was thrilled when I heard she won. I've been wanting Simon Cowell to burst into flames for quite sometime.

She was fat and she wasn't good enough. She was doing live performing and could not sustain it. The public voted her off, don't forget
And since then she has lost weight, she has learned more about the business, and she made her break in film - where they can shoot it again if you don't do it well the first time. She has definitely improved - but I don't think Simon was wrong when he evaluated her back then.
Simon usually tells the truth about contestants, unlike the other two who want to be nice nice all the time, ,and the professional music industry doesn't have time for nice. Be really good and consistent or get out. Simon is just trying to prepare them and save time.

I was wondering same thing. I think he should publicly say he was wrong about her. I have not seen the movie yet so I do not know if she truly deserved the awards but she is a great singer and a beautiful woman. Other friends have seen the movie and thought she was great in it. The fact she won the award is just more publicity for Idol so SC will be glad for that.

I think he is usually right. I didn't like the referral to her weight or to Mandisa'a last year either but he does know his stuff! I am sure he has contacted her and congratulated her. She has admitted his criticism actually meant a lot to her. People may not like his personality but he DOES know what he is talking about.
