Yes, the world should put heavy pressure on Japan for violating international laws with regards to endangered species.

The Japs are only killing these dolphins because they eat the fish that the Japs want to catch. They're not killing them for food or other purposes. They're just slaughtering these dolphins because the dolphins eat the same fish the Japs want.

This is a perversion and must stop.

The answer is NO

Japan is a very enlightened country. You and I do NOIT have all the facts as to why such harvesting takes place.

Canada was terribly criticzed for killing those beautiful little harp seals and several countries suggested CANADA be boycotted.

What those well-meaning folks did NOT know is that the government is JUST as conservation-minded as any other caring nation but that their experts have determined that 4 million seals is ALL that can be safely allowed. (by the way seals eat about 40 lbs of nice fresh fish each day which would feed your family or mine).

So in 2006 there were 4.7 million seals allowing a reducation of 700,000. However the rule at present is to harvest only 375,000 each year.

This number may change.

The harvesting is a about the only income the residents of the area get. It IS THEIR INCOME. So, even as the Bible suggests, man comes before animal. If you don't agree then join Greenpeace or some other radical conservation group.

Yes, and they also kill whales too. And we should also boycot Canada for the baby seal hunt. Go to www.petitiononline.com and at least sign a petition against these.
By the way, a boycot of the US for innocent people killing is not such a preposterous idea for other nations, you know, guywith10toes, your argument is not therefore valid.
