Cold Sterilization is any form of sterilization that does not use steam or heat, or radiation.

Irradiation and UV sterilization are also sometimes called cold sterilization, but that's incorrect.

Most forms of cold sterilization involve soaking a thing to be sterilized in a solution of alchohol or water with an additive such as alcinox or spor-klenz.

Cold sterilization is a method of sterilizing (usually) surgical instruments in a solution of water and some sterilizing agent. Rather than using an autoclave, which is a high-pressure steamer, to kill pathogens, cold sterilization works at room temperature.

For what it's worth, cold sterilization is not nearly as effective as autoclaving.

All I can say is that my Mother use to always sing, "Rain drops keep falling on my head," I thought it was strange, but all these years later...this is the best answer I can think of on the top of my head. However, I liked that kid Rock song hat crossed over from Country to God know what.
