I'm already giving her a visa gift card to go shopping with and a 50+ invited party/sleepover.

50+ people are not sleeping over only 5 are. The party is gonna be very low budget only cake , soda, chips, and ice cream, held outside (easy cleanup) I just wanted her to have a present to open....something small and not ridiculously priced

It all depends what her interests are...But I'm sure a huge party and a gift card would be plenty...I know I'd be happy with that if I was her age.

I'm also turning twelve this year so I can REALLY help. 50+ is a little over the top, but she'll love it. As for the sleepover, just remember to not treat her like a little kid saying " Oh sweetie, how are you doing, oh my goodness you grow up so fast!, etc." An iPod shuffle is a great gift for any 12- year old. It holds up to 250 songs and is only $89 canadian,it's also really small so you can take it anywhere, and comes in loads of cool metallic colours. Buy her some stuff for the sleepover like tons of nailpolish, face masks, chick flicks, etc. Spoil her ( but not too much..) because thats what every girl wants. If she has a "boyfriend" or something, let her invite her to the party or go out for a little "date " or lunch with him. Just remember that in a few years her life will totally change, and so will yours, so cherish this time while it lasts and have fun!

Who has 50+ friends when they are 12 years old? What happened to just having a handful of friends over for a slumber party? Kids parties are really out of control.

50+ for a sleepover. You are braver than I am for sure. Does she have an ipod? Ipod shuffles are not that expensive. She would love that. Hope the party is great!! Make sure you take plenty of pictures.

Give her some chores to do, make sure she gets straight A's. Never allow her to be a cheerleader. Love her more than the gifts you are giving her. Limit the amount of TV,computer and I Pod time. Teach her abstinence. Send her on a mission trip with a local church. Sign her up to volunteer to mentor younger kids. Send her to a camp to learn to referee soccer. Teach her to live life to serve others. Go on a family vacation. Read to her.

Lol..a training bra or sanitary napkins as she is hitting the age where these changes take place. Otherwise, relax and remember you can't buy love. It sounds as though you already have things under control. The only thing left is to remember to grab a camera and make memories. Have fun and enjoy the woman your daughter is becoming.

the real question here is how are you going to top this when she is 13 which is a much bigger milestone than 12. is your daughter so much of an ingrate that she won't realize what you are doing is already over the limit for a child?

The items a 12 year old might need. Ask her what she wants for her birthday.

Say your grandmother wants to know but you do

You are out of your mind. She's just 12! 50+???? Children today have no sense of reality, and this is why.
