In my opinion stick with Sky. I was with them and moved to Virginmedia (was telewest then) and I wish I didn't. It's nothing to do with the channels that I lost, really you only lose things like all the +1 channels, most of the kids, music. You lose all the stupid gaming and betting channels, which I love. But the service is crap. All through Lost last night it kept freezing, and it does this a lot. The TV guide will not let you look up 7 days in advance, it is slow and hard to follow. The actual controls are really badly designed and makes it difficult to change channel etc. You can only set a reminder, there is no series link. As soon as my contract ends I am moving back to sky. I also have the Broadband, but again I will be getting rid of it as I have had nothing but problems and viruses! It may change now that Richard Branson is in charge, he's got 5 months to convince me to stay!!
Also, all the Sky channels may be taken off anyway, if that happens I am definitely gone!!

Sky One, Two and Three and Sky News and Sky Sports News

It's not so bad if you're thinking of getting Virginmedia as a new customer. It's worse for old Telewest customers like me who are not going to get a reduction in our bills now that Virginmedia have taken over our service and lost the Sky channels.

You would loose all sky owned channels except the premium sports and movies. So in essence you keep sky sports, except news service, and the sky movies services. These are carried by virgin media under a different agreement - so I am led to believe.

Whether these channels continue on virgin media depends on if they can make an agreement with sky.

This evening, and not before, I discover that I am losing "Sky 1" from Virgin.
Virgin did not tell me, Virgin did not ask me.

This evening I have arranged for the installation of a Sky satellite system on Saturday. It gives more channels than Virgin & costs less!

I shall then have BT replace my Virgin phone & then replace my Virgin broadband.

My advice to Virgin customers - move to SKY

If the rumours are true and they don't come to any agreement then ALL sky channels will be lost from Virgin.

No great loss in my opinion
