This is a no-brainer. Nate Robinson. He tried that same slightly above average dunk at least 10 consecutive times (after the 10th screw-up, I changed the channel to a Law & Order rerun). When I finally saw the dunk that actually worked, I was far from impressed. It was painfully obvious that the NBA was trying to recapture the magic of the slam dunk contest by retreading the Spud Webb story, a point guard under 6 feet winning the dunk contest. Nate Robinson is not even close to Spud Webb. Spud did spectacular dunks without attempting them 10 times. If you ask me, David Stern realizes that the dunk contest is a flop now since he can't get the big stars to participate, and that was a desperate last ditch effort to regenerate interest.

Honorable Mention: Fred Jones. There's no way he should have ever beat Jason Richardson, who probably could win it every year if he chose to participate.

Nate Robinson winning the dunk contest last year was a gimmick in my mind.

He was good, and fun to watch, but he took a very long time excuting his dunks to a point where it got boring and repetitive, which is NOT what the dunk competition is about in any way.

There were a few dunk contests in between Vince's year and Nate's year which were actually quite boring (aside from J-Rich), so props for Nate and Igoudala for lighting it up.

Still,
Andre Igoudala made one of the most insane dunks i have ever seen when he came from behind the net, went under the backboard and came up and dunked the ball..

That dunk alone should have given him the dunk contest!

Nate Robinson

Yes, we all want to see another Spud Webb, but Spud could do amazing dunks.... ON THE FIRST TRY!

Also, Andre Iguodala did some pretty impressive dunks himself. While he left the door open with a ho-hum final round dunk, Nate shouldn't be given so many attempts at a dunk and still win it.

The whole point of the dunk contest is to show your best dunks with style and authority. Needing that many attempts doesn't exhibit any sort of authority, except having tons of stamina to jump so many times in a row.

the dude Gerald Green who won this year. How many times do u see on the highlights him dunking...never. If ur a slam dunk champ you should be able to bring that skill to the court on a daily basis. Such as LeBron or Kobe.

Nate Robinson!!

Andre Igoudala should have won. Up and under alley-oop through the back of the backboard while barely kissing his forehead versus jumping over a 5 footer and numerous missed dunks off an annoying toss?? c'mon!

Others:
Kenny "skywalker" Walker - pathetic
Brent Barry - weak
Harld Miner - ?? who u?
Fred Jones - J-Rich should've won

Nate Robinson should have never won last year's slam dunk contest. Andre Iguodala was more creative and had better dunks, plus Robinson took 20+ attempts to finally get his dunk down.

MJ in 88. Nique had the better dunks, but Jordan won cause it was in Chicago. He got a 50 on his final dunk even though he had already doone that dunk in the competition

Brent Barry from the LA Clippers. I don't even remeber when he won it but I remeber the dunk (and not because it was good). He did a MJ impression from the foul line but he was like a foot inside the line when he jumped. He never even took off his warmup top during the whole compition. He was a tool, and only won because everyone couldn't believe that a white boy could jump. (He was like 6'7" so it was no big deal that he could jump anyways.)

Anyone that competed the last couple of years. Since no real name wants to compete in the dunk contest any longer, with the exception of Dwight Howard this year, the contest is really weak.
