Shouldn't they change the name to the "Michael Moore Award" for best fictional piece disguised as a documentary? Shouldn't they give a vote to the twenty thousand scientists who refuted Gores' P.O.S?

Al Gore is a scary scary man. His father is a huge criminal.
He looks so out of touch with reality.
Twisted sister's Dee Snyder owned Tipper Gore at the senate hearings.
Everything he does is wrong.

I find it interesting that anyone who disagrees with what any celebrity has to say about important world issues, it instantly makes them brainwashed or corrupt. Yet, it's the same people who find it's okay that Bush is still in office. The fact of the matter is that before these people were well-known and in the spotlight, they were still fighting for causes that they believe in. It's very appropriate and worthy for them to use their status to help educate the masses. They're not just pampered, high-paid celebrities with pretty faces. The movie wins two awards and suddenly the whole Oscar ceremony is corrupt. Give me a break. Calling it a "fictional piece" is ignorant. And whether or not it exists, blindly denying global warming with no arguement is naive. I'm not saying there isn't any corruption in Hollywood, but lighten up. If you're not a part of the solution, you're a part of the problem.

**Update** No one mentioned Bush once at the Oscars. And I highly doubt that's why the Dixie Chicks won the Grammy.

For the last time AL GORE DID NOT WIN AN OSCAR!!!! Before you start disparaging him and the Oscars get your facts straight. The Academy Award for Best Documentary feature went to Davis Guggenheim. Mr. Guggenheim asked Mr. Gore to accompany him onstage as a courtesy.

Well the awards are all political and this was just Hollywood taking a shot at President Bush. Just like when the Grammies were given to the Dixie Chicks. Although these people were worse. Nothing like a Lear Jet Environmentalist.

I was really disturbed by the Oscars last night! All these rich done up celebrities acting all concerned for the environment - about global warming (don't they know there is no such thing as global warming).
How abotu Melissa Ethridge preaching to us about what to do like turn down the thermostat - I wonder if they turn down the thermostat in their 10,000 square foot homes!
It was so ridiculous, I felt like I was listening to a bunch of brainwashed people who are always trying to tell US to be an individual and to be yourself.
I don't know, I am just having a hard time articulating my disgust with a show that is supposed to be about awarding art not preaching for this cause or that cause, etc.

Amazing how some people are gullible enough to believe these so called documentaries, like Moore's, are 100% fact. Hello people it's a movie, they can manipulate the data any way they wish.

I knew pretty much for the get-go that An Inconvenient Truth was going to win, but you know what? It was ok. Al Gore seems like a good guy and even though I didn't vote for him, is it really so bad to make people aware of the damage they may be causing due to their frivolous and excessive use of natural resources?

I agree with socmom16 like him politically or not...he has a big point when it comes to the state of the world. The doomsday Clock was also moved closer to midnight because of the affects of Global Warming. This can't be refuted. Anyone closing their eyes to these issues i hope you don't have children...because there won't be much of a world for them!

They probably didn't charge him anything. Commies and socialists look after each other. But they probably only give a vote to mikee moore (but he probably counts as 9 or 10 people anyway).

algore is an idiot.
