ok, so i play runescape and i just started w/ it, and im only lvl 9. i use swords, bows, arrows, and prayer (thats the only magic i use). I'm good with my hands (you know, cookin, fires, and such), and i love to travel around all of the game's main lands. But, im on the free server, not the members. and i was wondering, what's a good clan (or group) i can join, and how. also, i wanted to know the benifits of joining a clan, and how will it effect my runescape experence. seriosly, answer all my questions, (in GREAT detail). Thanks! ^_^

Benefits of joining a clan:
1. you make a lot of new friends who have the same interests as you.
2. you have people to help you out if you need it.
3. you can advance in the game faster with the help of clan friends who show you the ropes.
Thing is, that I don't think anyone can tell you what a good clan is. There are lots and lots of clans, and each one is different. You need to find a clan that has the same goals as you do.
Some clans PK, some are skill calns.
If I were you, I'd go on to the Runescape forums and check out postings of different clans that are recruiting. See which ones are recruiting level 9's, see which ones sound good to you. Choose one of those and go meet the leaders.
Good luck.

Runescape doesn't consist of clans and groups. It is basically a free-play game. You do whatever you want. The only clans they would have are the ones for killing in the Wilderness. One way you can learn the ropes is by asking around, and maybe finding a good friend with experience of the game. I'm now a level 118, and I pretty much know everyplace in the game (not all members area, though). And it will take a bit of time. But, all you need to do is find someone who can help within the game. You could also take to the Tutorial Teachers around the game, they will teach you about the basic skills and what they are good for. Also, since your a level 9, I wouldn't recommend you becoming a member yet, because most of the members benefits consist of having the ability to wield or use the weapons and armors. Well, I know you'll do fine, just like everyone else once they get a hold of the ropes. :)

There's not many f2p clans, but most clans have pre-req's. The clan I was in, you needed have either 90+ combat or 80+ magic or range. Try browsing the RsForums for low-level f2p clans.
Pro's and con's:
Don't join a clan unless you willing to attend most the events, and be online at some-what regular hours. Pro's are difinetely good mult-pking, and just fun things to do, a new set of friends who want to have fun. A bad part is it takes up your friend's space. The clan I was in had over 50 members, and all must be added to my list. I had to delete 50 people, but I kept the other 150. F2p friendslist has only 100 slots, so choose your clan wisely. Some clans go overboard, they expect you to do things that you sometimes don't want to do, or go places you don't want to. I'd definetely level up awhile before considering to join a clan. Being a member would also make it extremely easier.
Good Luck

OK well i host a clan called vengance X but as of last week i had to turn the clan over to my other main b/c i was banned in our clan we really don't have benefits except for clan wars we used to have jobs for miners and lumberjacks and cooks like that but rite now I'm thinking of putting the clan into peace mode and residing in the monastery and becoming a high priest because my other account was a priest and had access to the monastery. Joinning us might help you gain knowledge of the runescape world and it would be nice to have you abord o and we have a clan website check it out if you want to and fill out the form if you want to join ill put it in the sources box

Clans don't really change the experience of a game, they just add to the time you don't spend walking around for no apparent reason. And if anyone EVER wanted to hire someone they probably NEVER hire someone level 9(no offense), or they just want to make people feel welcome into the game and/or is nice. But they might want someone really good at cooking, mining, etc
