The answers coming in says it all. No one should be held back due to their ethnicity, yet it still prevalently happens, all over the world. Yes racism is alive and well especially here on y/a. I was raised in North Carolina in the 50-60's and was prejudged, discriminated against, beaten, and all sorts of other abuses just because I was considered "n luvin po white trash" by the narrow minded rednecks. Yes I will stand up for any group that is treated unfairly. Wake up people who answer negatively and try to walk a block, much less a mile in the black man's shoes.

Oh, the cry of the pitiful blacks. Geesh, life is so hard for you ain't it. OK. There are respectable citizens that are black. Don't get me wrong. There are also thugs and drug runners and overall BAD people that are white. I won't argue that fact. What I will say is that ya'll are anything but discriminated against.Did you know that a black student with a lower GPA actually stands a better chance at being accepted in an Ivy League school than a white student with a higher GPA? Do you know WHY that is? It's because they want a "diverse" environment. Also, a white man that is highly qualified is oftentimes rejected for black men or women of any race that isn't as qualified for a state job. I'm SO tired of hearing black people whining about discrimination!! Please, give it a rest!

I see alot of people standing up for the "black" race. The problem is that people are suffering all over the world. There are alot of bad things that continue to happen to people of all races. Until people stop judging people by their race, there will forever be problems. I'm holding out for GOD to come and fix the problems on this earth. He will be the only one who can. Thank you and GOD bless.

How many more people do you need???? How about this....when will the black race stand up and take some responsibility for their own actions instead of whining about something that happened to their ancestors over a hundred years ago.

I know that the blacks are still discriminated against, subtly and not so subtly. Why? I guess the world is still far from being civilised in a genuine sense of the world. People like Condaleeza Rice are just Uncle Toms (Aunty Toms?) to make the black people feel they are in power and to satisfy the white man's holier-than-thou attitude. (I am brown, by the way)
