It sounds like a problem with your video card - go to their site and see if you can find drivers for it. The drivers have to be for your _specific_ video card.

1. Click "Start", click "Control Panel", and then click "Performance and Maintenance".
2. Click "See basic information about your computer".
3. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.
Look around in here, you should be able to find it - write it down, then Google it. Go to the official site, go into the "Downloads" section and enter in the info on your card. (The steps vary)

If you're worried about viruses... This probably means that you don't scan for them regularly. NOT a good idea - you need to scan your computer at LEAST once a month. If you use Internet Explorer... scan once a week.

Here, I'll give you some links to good and free security software:

Anti-virus programs find and remove viruses. I highly recommend having just one running at a time as they can clash. Update this program at least once a week and scan your computer on the weekends when you're not using it.
Anti-virus - ClamWin - http://www.clamwin.com/
Anti-virus - AVG - http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-anti-virus-free
(scroll down until you see orange)

Anti-spyware programs find and remove spyware. Spyware can cause pop-ups, spy on you, read your personal info and sent it to identity theives and much more. As with anti-virus programs, you need to keep this / these up to date.
Anti-spyware - Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.spybot.info/en/mirrors/index.html
Anti-spyware - Ad-aware - http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html

Firewall programs stop people from easily accessing your computer from the outside (hackers), and also let you know when programs are trying to contact sites. EVERYONE needs a firewall and the one from Microsoft is NOT enough.
Firewall - Zonealarm (free) - http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp
Hint: Read what the pop-ups say and THINK about whether you want to allow programs access.

Now... there is one program you can use to cut down the number of nasty programs that get into your computer... It's free, does it's job very well and you can get it to do lots of cool stuff by adding in add-ons.
I'm talking about dropping Internet Explorer and using Firefox - It's free, fast, safe, secure, easy to use... copies over your favourites and cookies from Internet Explorer (so you can hit the ground running).
I, personally, like it because I can personalize it - themes, add-ons that can do amazing things like block banner / flash / iframe ads, control your music player without switching to it and more...
My point is... not only is Firefox safer, faster, etc but YOU have the power to choose what you want it to be able to do.

Firefox - http://getfirefox.com/
Adblock Plus - http://adblockplus.org/
FoxyTunes - http://foxytunes.com/
More add-ons - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/

All the programs I've quoted are free and highly recommended.

i've got been having the comparable journey as you; i might stick to Shah M.'s suggestion and refresh your show. Your solutions have been submitted (a minimum of mine have once I try this), so this could not be a difficulty. i ask your self whether it has something to do with the internet browser (i'm using Firefox with their maximum modern improve)...
