Most people today notice that the world is becoming more socialist! How long until a world socialistic government takes over the world including America? I probably won't be around to see it but I would bet within 150-200 years it will happen. Rome fell because of people like republicans and democrats continuously taking away economic and moral freedoms, how long will it take humans to realize the harm of politics and to give freedom again? Or will freedom be lost forever?

Freedom will be lost forever. This will be due to the fact that the gov't, with modern technology, will be able to quell any thought (Though Police, 1984) of revolt and/or wanting to change the system.

Its really funny how most Americans see socialism in a very narrow minded way, they don't seem to understand that there are degrees of socialism, not all are hell bent on taking away your rights and freedom, Communism is extreme socialism and that which we have seen does not work, socialism in its mild form is a way of providing a fairer system , to make sure that all are treated more equally and to try and prevent the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, this does not mean you can't go out and make a million bucks, it just means that in order to have a country with better public services lower cost healthcare for all, then certain things should have a higher revenue on them, and companies who boast record profits should be willing to pay more in the way of taxation, America is a great country, but seems to be so isolated that it ignores the real problems that it has, remember Communism was not just invented, it was brought about by social injustice and greed, no one in their right mind wants that kind of socialism, but I think most would agree that a fairer American society would be nice.

I don't think a socialist world government will ever become a reality. Within the next 100 years we will augment our minds with computers and become much smarter than we are right now, and then we will all realize that the best economic system is not socialism.

A socialist world government would be a GOOD thing. It's not going to happen anytime soon, but if it did, there would be much less poverty and injustice.

Rome didn't fall because of lack of freedom. It fell because all empires eventually fall. It fell because of the Huns. It fell because of the Sassanids. It fell because it was based on a plunder economy. Read a history book.

It is the Government itself - that drives people to seek Socialism!

As long as you have greedy people in the Government (mainly Republicans) who only want to build their own pollitical dynasties at the expense of the Middle and Lower Classes - you run the risk of increasing the desire of Socialism!

And the Rich can only get so rich and the poor can only get so poor before this happens!

The Revolution is on its way.

It's not going to happen. The final battle will first because people world-wide have woken up to the fable that people are 'born' to be low class or high class --- caste system nonsense, and are all chomping at the bit and fighting the reigns of this warped egoist system. People are sick of egomaniacs trying to enslave them. Also, one group of egomaniacs is constantly at battle with at least two others, watch any CNN lately? It's even more obvious when you talk to people from those places and find out the true details which CNN and the egomaniacs don't want you to understand. Hah! Socialism is like a bad rash and people get sick of it quick.

is this a real question? because the world isnt becoming socialist at all...there are very few world governments that fully command their economies. Do some research and you won't make a jerk out of yourself next time.

Actually Rome fell because of democrats who rather give in to the demands of the enemy rather than fight.

Rome fell becaue their wealthy elite stopped doing their own fighting and hired mercenaries to do it for them. Among other things.
