Unfortunately, I don't think so. During the 50's and 60's, shows presented storylines of family values and doing the right thing. You don't see that today, especially in the comedies that portray sex, selfishness, and put-downs as the norm.
I like the absurd comedies of the mid 60's the best. The Gilligan Island type of shows. It was good clean, crazy fun that was an entertaining form of escapism.
Too many crime shows that display violence permeate the tube today. Do you really feel good about yourself after watching some of this stuff? It's hard to find good stuff today that is good clean fun that has a relevant storyline and may make you ponder something for self improvement.

I think that is a very astute question. I think our collective sense of humor has changed a lot over the years. I find myself watching the old sitcoms and wondering why I used to think they were so funny.
